The Association to support Technology Assessment in Health Care (“Verein zur Förderung der Technologiebewertung im Gesundheitswesen (Health Technology Assessment) e.V.“) is a non-profit association based in Berlin.

The purpose of the association is the exchange of knowledge on the direct and indirect effects of the application of medical procedures and technologies in health care (technology assessment).

The association promotes academic teaching and training as well as professional development and scientific exchange.

Aims
The association promotes the exchange of knowledge on the direct and indirect effects of the application of medical procedures and technologies in health care (technology assessment). This includes, among other things, the advancement of scientific methods for the evaluation of health technologies, organizing events, advising decision-makers in the health care system as well as further education and training.

History
HTA.de was founded in 2000 in Berlin and since then has regularly sponsored events on a number of topics in the health care system, or co-organized such events with other professional associations, supported projects and developed an HTA curriculum for continuing education.

Activities
The association organizes events on relevant topics, follows and advises on regulatory processes, has developed a Curriculum for HTA (in German) and supports the “HTA-Online” course at the Technische Universität Berlin.
